The company wearable hardware approach provides advantages over smartphone-based apps in hands-free, always-available scenarios where visually impaired users need continuous environmental interpretation without holding or interacting with a phone. OrCam has expanded its product line to include the OrCam Read for users with reading difficulties who do not have visual impairments, broadening the addressable market beyond traditional assistive technology buyers.
