Awaira (awaira.com) is committed to protecting user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Awaira collects, how it is used, and what choices users have regarding their data. Awaira is a free AI company intelligence platform based in India. By using Awaira, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, you should discontinue use of the platform.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create an account on Awaira, we collect your name, email address, and profile information. If you join our waitlist or newsletter, we collect your email address. If you submit a company through the submission form, we collect the information you provide including company name, website, and funding details. We also collect any information you provide when contacting Awaira via email for feedback or support.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use Awaira, we automatically collect certain information including: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on pages, search queries, and interaction patterns (clicks, scrolls). This information is collected through cookies, server logs, and third-party analytics tools described below.

Voting and Interaction Data

When you cast a Bull or Bear vote on a company, we store your vote alongside your IP address to prevent duplicate voting. Search queries are logged to improve search relevance and platform quality.

2. How We Use Information

Awaira uses collected information to: (a) operate, maintain, and improve the platform, including delivering content and search results; (b) send newsletters, product updates, and service-related communications via Resend; (c) analyze usage patterns to improve platform performance, content, and user experience; (d) prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and maintain platform security; (e) respond to user inquiries, feedback, and support requests; (f) comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service. Awaira does not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Awaira does not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Awaira uses GA4 to understand how users interact with the platform. GA4 collects anonymized data about page views, session duration, traffic sources, and user demographics. Google may use this data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Vercel Analytics

Awaira uses Vercel Analytics to collect performance metrics including page load times, Web Vitals, and error rates. Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused and does not collect personally identifiable information.

Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are required for basic platform functionality including authentication sessions, cookie consent preferences, and session management. These cookies are necessary for the platform to operate and cannot be disabled.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block third-party cookies while permitting essential cookies. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from logging in. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the platform.

4. Third-Party Services

Awaira integrates with the following third-party services that may process user data. Each service operates under its own privacy policy:

Supabase — database hosting and authentication. Data stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security enabled. Vercel — application hosting, edge caching, and performance analytics. Processes request metadata for content delivery. Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics and audience measurement. Collects anonymized interaction data via cookies. Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery. Processes email addresses for message delivery and open/click tracking. Google Search Console — search performance monitoring. Processes aggregated search query data with no personally identifiable information.

Awaira selects service providers that maintain appropriate security standards and comply with applicable data protection regulations.

5. Data Retention

Awaira retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Account data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion request. Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe; every email includes an unsubscribe link. Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 26 months in Google Analytics, per Google’s default retention settings. Server logs are retained for 30 days for security and debugging purposes, then automatically deleted. Anonymous voting data is retained indefinitely to maintain the integrity of community sentiment scores.

6. Your Rights

For All Users

Regardless of your location, you have the right to: (a) access the personal data Awaira holds about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data; (c) request deletion of your account and associated data; (d) opt out of marketing communications at any time; (e) request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

For Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including: the right to restrict processing of your data, the right to data portability, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing personal data includes consent (for marketing emails), contract performance (for account management), and legitimate interests (for platform improvement and security).

Exercising Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@awaira.com. Awaira will respond to verified requests within 30 days. You will not be charged a fee for exercising your rights unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

7. Children’s Privacy

Awaira is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. The platform does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If Awaira becomes aware that it has collected personal data from a child under 13, it will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to Awaira, please contact privacy@awaira.com so the data can be removed.

8. Data Security

Awaira implements industry-standard security measures to protect personal data, including: HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, row-level security on database access, secure authentication mechanisms, and rate limiting on API endpoints. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Awaira cannot guarantee absolute security and is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from factors beyond its reasonable control. Users are encouraged to use strong, unique passwords and to avoid sharing account credentials.

9. Changes to This Policy

Awaira may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in data practices, legal requirements, or platform features. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Material changes will be communicated through a prominent notice on the platform or via email to registered users. Continued use of Awaira after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
